Resumen:   The Third Millennium has just begun, and a new phase in man's history has just started. Historians will probably call this new era the age of artificial intelligence, the age of cyberspace, the age of data banks and telecommunication, or the age of globalization and cross-cultural fusion. I would like to call it the age of thrilling challenges. Thus evolved the general theme of our Conference: The Challenges of Translation and Interpretation in the Third Millennium. Indeed, the challenges that await us are numerous, enormous, and dazzling at the same time. Are we as scholars in the fields of Translation and Interpretation prepared to measure up to these challenges? How will these new changes affect our activities as human beings and as professional translators and interpreters? How will cyberspace and globalization reshape our perception of human values? Twenty-four distinguished speakers from 11 countries including Lebanon tried to answer some of these questions in this work. [Source: Editors]
