Resumen:   The structure of this book follows that of a syllabus in Translation Studies and covers some of the most pertinent orientations in the discipline: from the normative writings on how to translate a literary text well, to the important insights brought by linguistics and, especially, in most recent years, by pragmatics, discourse analysis, text-analysis and functionalist theories. [...] The theoretical and methodological considerations of this course are the concise expression of a vast amount of materials that have been written about translation, trying to synthesise, in a meaningful way, some fundamental insights into the discipline. The theoretical chapters and subchapters are followed by practical exercises focusing on particular translation aspects highlighted by a previously discussed topic. [Source: Author]
