Resumen:   The conference was organised by the Portsmouth Translation Studies Group with the aim of 1) providing a forum for discussion among professional and academic people who work at various levels in teaching and training future translators and interpreters, as well as 2) promoting the exchange and dissemination of practices. [...] three foci [...] of the papers presented here seem to point to as central challenges in the training of translators and interpreters in universities: professional issues in the classroom, the challenge modern technologies pose to traditional teaching and training methods, and the role played by theory/ies in training.
