Resumen:   This DVD contains two programs titled Meetings and Cultural Issues. Meetings: There is a problem with the installation of some heavy machinery at a car parts manufacturing plant. The Japanese engineer sent out to supervise the installation has different expectations of work practices and safety, and a dispute is brewing. You have been asked to interpret during a meeting of the four people concerned. This is the fifth of six videos. Cultural Issues: A role play of an interpreting situation, with examples of different interpreting paths which might be followed. The issue of cultural difference can easily affect the quality of communication. We see how an interpreter might handle this problem in an interview between a social worker and a non English-speaking client. This is the sixth of six videos. [Source: Publisher]
