Resumen:   This special issue of inTRAlinea brings together a series of important essays by scholars from a wide variety of countries and sociolinguistic contexts who have been called to address the various different modes of translating (in all the possible senses of the word) dialect in a multimedia environment, raising a number of diverse and complex issues that are of great significance to the study of translation. By dialect the Editors intended both minority languages that are unrecognized or only partially recognized but which maintain a considerable social pedigree, as is the case with so many Italian and German dialects, and diatopic and diastratic variants of the vehicular languages.
