Published since 2008, under the aegis of the Centre Interface Research of the Original and the Translated Text. Cognitive and Communicative Dimensions of the Message, the review has three annual issues. They cover the following areas of interest:
Translation studies (comparative translation studies; translation theory; ethics of translation; translation criticism; translator/interpreter training; history of translation and interpreting; domain-specific translations; interdisciplinary studies on translations),
Foreign language teaching.
The review includes contributions from the participants in the traditional by now international conference Translation Studies: Retrospective and Prospective Views organised by the Department of English – Dunarea de Jos - University of Galati. As a messenger of inter/national ideas and experience in translation(-related) studies, it aims at:
* providing a platform for academics, teachers, professional and would-be translators, master and PhD students who are interested in sharing expertise and disseminating the results of their scientific endeavours;
* showing how research in the field of translation studies and in other related fields is prepared to meet the challenges of the globalizing imperatives, as well as the needs of the local context(s) at the beginning of the 21st century;
* popularising and enriching through book reviews, notices on events and lists of books the framework of translation (-related) studies;
* creating an opportunity for building professional relationships aimed at working on internationally joint research projects and highlighting both the corresponding and the contrasting elements in matters of translation studies (and affiliated research fields). [Source: Editors]
