Resumen:   The source of this thesis is the theoretical consideration about the role of reading and interpretation of the text when translating a literary work; namely, in this particular case, poetry. To carry out this reflection in a practical way, this thesis presents the work of translation, from Russian to Spanish, of the most extense and representative two poems of Russian poet Anna Akhmatova (1889-1966): «Requiem» (1935-1940) and «Poem without a Hero» (1940-1962), two literaty works that, due to the context and subtext that they involve, could result in a difficult reception and decoding for the Spanish reader. First, this thesis provides a brief and general approach to the Russian literature in Spain. In addition, it also shows the main content of the work on «Requiem» and on «Poem without a Hero» in two parts, following the same outline: a monographic introduction in order to contextualize the work and its literary significance; the original version of the work accompanied by our proposal of translation; and the “comments” intended to perform a specific exegesis of particular verses regarding the cultural, social, political and biographical subtexts of the poem, aiming to justify, to clarify, or to improve the comprehension of the poetical work to the non skilled in Russian culture or literature reader. At the end of this part, we also present an “onomastic glossary”. Finally, we present the conclusions reached through this practical work. [Source: Author]
