Resumen:   There is a basic difference between the translation of technical documentation and that of other kinds of text. If you translate a user's manual or an online help the same way that you are used to when translating other kinds of documents, your client (mostly technical writers) will not be happy with the results. An example would be a diversified style of speech, which would make a novel or a sales leaflet so alive and interesting but would cause enormous comprehension problems on a user's handbook. When you translate technical documentation you should understand what are the principles on which your client has built the documents in order to achieve an optimal comprehension. Only then will your translation be guided by those same principles. This book aims to show you the basic writing rules that every technical writer follow. If you use the same rules in your translations, the satisfaction of both your client and the final reader are nothing less than guaranteed. This edition is bilingual: German and English. All the topics considered universals or regarding the English language are explained in English. Those specially related to the German language are described in German. [Source: Author]
