Resumen:   Biliterate-trilingual dictionaries constitute an intriguing challenge for lexicographers, in both theoretical and practical terms, and with regard to both paper and electronic products. Three areas of interest that might relate to them come immediately to mind: first, the language reality of Hong-Kong (its sociolinguistic situation); second, the kinds of dictionaries currently available in the Special Administrative Region, and whether any bi-tri tendencies can be detected in any of them; and third, some thoughts on what biliterate and trilingual dictionaries might be like – especially with regard to what the needs of users might be (as opposed to simply what lexicographers might most easily be able to put together out of pre-existing materials).
